Unhealthy foods to avoid to lose weight
All processed grain products- these unhealthy foods provide huge numbers of calories and little or no nutrition. Foods like bread and other bread products, pasta, cakes, biscuits, donuts etc are on the do not eat list. It is so easy to overeat these foods and they do little to contribute to your health. Carbohydrates can be obtained from much healthier sources in your diet such as fruits and vegetables.
Breakfast Cereals-these are so heavily processed that they have to have nutrition in the form of vitamins and minerals added back so that the manufactorers can claim they are a healthy food! Check the servings size and see how calorie dense they really are for minimal benefits in a healthy diet
Soft drinks!! May be the king of unhealthy foods. These are absolutely to be avoided. Even diet soft drinks are off limits. They contribute nothing to your good health
Fruit juices-likewise, fruit juices just add calories quicker than you can say orange juice
Deep fried foods-Healthy fats are important in the diet, but the amounts and types of fat that you get from deep fried foods will not improve your health or help you to lose weight. Chips and fries are out!!
Crumbed foods-precrumbed foods have all kinds of things added that you just dont want to eat, and they of course are made up of unhealthy processed grains as well.
Hard and soft cheeses-most cheese if full of saturated fat. And dont always believe the low fat labels. Some low fat cheeses dont have much less fat than their full fat varieties. Cottage cheese is a great alternative in recipies and your diet in general. If you must have cheese, make sure you have tiny portions and only occasionally if you want to lose weight
Processed meats-Sausages, hotdogs, frankfurts, salami, processed sliced meats are unhealthy foods that need to be removed from your diet
Chips and packaged snacks- All packaged crisps, chips, etc are not part of a healthy weight loss diet. These foods are bad on so many levels-fat, salt sometimes sugar not to mention the additives, colours etc that are used. Dont fall for the 'baked not fried' or '50%less fat' lines that are pushed by the manufacturers.
